Host a Runner – Update

As the Havasu Half Marathon continues to gain notoriety, more runners, including elite’s, are wanting to take part in this awesome event.  One such elite is Jeff McCabe.  Jeff recently placed 2^nd and 3^rd in two marathons in Pennsylvania with a 2:26:23 and 2:28:58.  He will be moving to Flagstaff at the beginning of November to work as an Americorps Vista volunteer with Northern Arizona University.  Because he would only be receiving a living stipend which makes financing extra things difficult, he’s looking to see if anyone would host him on Friday night before the Havasu Half.  Jeff says even if it was just a blanket on the floor that would help.  He plans on doing the Eugene Marathon in May so the timing to put in a 1/2 would be perfect.  Jeff writes, “With avoiding injury I would hope to run in the 68:00 range so a course record and the London Bridge is enough reason for me.”  Watch out, Dan Kuch!

UPDATE – Thank you to Havasu Hustler member Su-Lyn Ortiz and her husband for opening their home to Jeff. We look forward to him running in the Havasu Half with us!
